The science and safety behind WooS

Essential oils play a role to help with the anxiety, depression, insomnia, difficulty focusing and coughing and phlegm that comes upon smoking/vaping withdrawal.

Here are some studies and articles on essential oils and smoking cessation and withdrawal:

  1. Inhalation of vapor from black pepper extract reduces smoking withdrawal symptoms
  2. The effects of aromatherapy on nicotine craving on a U.S. campus: a small comparison study
  3. Aromatherapy and quitting smoking
  4. Psychological effects of aromatherapy on smokers with depressive tendencies during smoking cessation treatment
  5. An overview of the evidences of herbals for smoking cessation
  6. Essential oils used in aromatherapy: A systemic review
  7. Anxiolytic effect of essential oils and their constituents
  8. Essential oils for crack withdrawal anxiety
  9. The effectiveness of aromatherapy for depressive symptoms
  10. Anxiolytic terpenoids and aromatherapy for anxiety and depression
  11. A systematic review of the effect of inhaled essential oils on sleep
  12. The therapeutic effect of aromatherapy on insomnia
  13. Essential oil nebulization in mild COVID-19
  14. Instant effects of peppermint essential oil on the physiological parameters and exercise performance
  15.  Peppermint essential oil: its phytochemistry, biological activity, pharmacological effect and application

Do note that these are small studies and while essential oils may help with smoking/vaping cessation, more research needs to be done in this field.

On top of that, WooS is designed to mimic the habit of hand-to-mouth movement during smoking/vaping so that transition and cessation become easier.
